Recently bought for a reasonable price..I gather the largest biscuit company in the UK 100 years ago....Meredith and Drew"s Chocolate Wafers atound the base and etched into the glass dome...Was there a different  dome for each variety of biscuit ? and what does a chocolate wafer look like ?..Was the etching coloured ?...anyway, very pleased with it...any other images of these display M & D "domes" for show ?

Ken, Here's a picture of mine. The etching should be in blue to match the blue on the base.

Have seen Banbury Cakes which has a reddy brown etching to match the colour on the base.
