I pity the buyer of the large Hudson's fingerplate at the Stoneleigh Railwayana sale (Lot 152) a fortnight ago - it was one that I had for a while (about 3 days) off ebay some years ago - I rejected it and the seller agreed to take it back and exchange it for one that was 100% better - I might have mentoned it on this site at the time. Anyway the first one was full of filler and repainting - IMO there wasn't much original enamel or metal left, it weighed about 50% of what it should have, hence the rapid return posting to the seller. Anyway it resurfaced at this auction @ £270 + BP etc. I get the feeling that a lot of folk are now buying into these enamels maybe not quie realising what they should be looking for, just like the 5 boys recently debated elsewhere on this site.
