info found from the web , census and trade directories . William Moss started at the age of 15 as an apprentice in a drapers shop in Hitchen Market Place In 1871 he owned a grocery shop. By 1899 his head office was in High Street Hitchen with two additional shops. He is described as a merchant,grocer,tea packer and blender..In 1908 the business was William Moss & Sons with additional branch grocery shops he had opened...In the 1912 directory he had become a limited company..The business was still in existence in 1937
