Interesting . A post by Bacco in Favourite tobacco tins looked familiar to me although I knew I did not have the Golden Chain tin . A little searching showed the same design, graphics colourways etc on another tin from my collection . I would date them around the same period ( according to Bacco c1906 )

 Hi Relics,

That is a very interesting observation. I wonder how many other tins had a dual purpose/design????

Yes , exactly what I was thinking Bacco . I'm sure I have seen the Phillips's Tea ship with sunrise or sunset used somewhere else .
Anyone have other examples ?

 Hi Relics,

The name on the bottom of my tin. "White & Pike" Ltd --Birmingham. Is it the same on yours??? It would be interesting to see if any other similar tins have been used for different products.

That White and Pike advertising is a nice piece . Is it tin or card ?

Wow, when Northfield wasn't just Birmingham! Seen a lot of potters using the same blanks but not often tins!
