Were they really making enamel signs over there into the 70's? I'd always thought they died off by the very early 60's? At least around here they did |

There are indeed repros of the snowdrift out there. BUT there is one giveaway, well more than one, but one instant difference that the repro men failed to copy exactly.

Mick, Michelin were making enamels in to the 70's, i'm sure i have at least one dated in the collection |

That's really great, I think India was producing real enamels up into the 80s, in Canada they were largely gone by early 60s, lots of tin litho signs in Canada though, going way back to turn of the century, many more than enamels ever were. |

I'd walk past those Snowdrift signs and keep lookin' for something that appeals .
They just don't . Genuine or not doesn't even come in to it .
Each to his own though .. Not meaning to be snarky .

I bought a new sign yesterday, not a snowdrift you will be pleased to hear, so will post it up when it arrives so you can all take the usual piss!

Wow, now that you mention that, I can't un-see it !!! Still a good sign IMO, but what the hell is it supposed ot be a rat tail for a guy with a skullet ?
