I'm off subject again, but hopefully this won't be deleted.  Just wondered what other people on here think about the queens funeral, and all the faff?

Personally, I'm not anti royalist, though there doesn't seem to be much point in having a royal family who are totally powerless.  But it seems to me that the media, particularly the bbc have stirred up mass hysteria.

I liked the queen, she seemed to be a nice old gal, with a sense of duty for her country.

The thing is, that we're all going to peg out one day, and she did well at 96.

I won't be watching the funeral, I can't anyway, as the television has gone tits up.

I'll probably listen to God Save The Queen (The Sex Pistols) on a loop instead.

Don't get me wrong Mick, nothing wrong with respect, and I'm not being disrespectful.  As I said the tv has gone wrong. I'm trying to have a look at it online, but my connection keeps going.

Was able to watch most of the funeral service online.  Now got fed up with the procession, and the music they're playing is getting me down.  Why couldn't they play Fantasia on A Theme By Thomas Tallis by Vaughan Williams?  Perfect funeral music, and so moving.

Let It Be would also have been a good choice afterwards as well, especially as the late Queen was apparently a great admirer of The Beatles.

The forces might find them difficult to march to though!

Speaking of today's events, I looked up Charles I and II just for curiosity sake. For Charles I, they beheaded the poor bugger! They really ought to make a movie about this guy.
