I'm still here Micky !
Unfortunately not able to go find any enamel at the moment.
A couple of weeks ago I fell off a ladder at work and fractured my elbow and hip, so I'm not a happy camper at the moment.
I wasn't really planning on learning how to walk again at the age of 54, but could have been worse I suppose ?
At least I can save extra money for more enamel, while I'm laid up.

Dang, sorry to hear. Reminds of of my dear old dad. He was famous for falling off ladders, one weekend he fell three times and ended up in hospital. Beers were the culprit, still the "rinse and repeat" was the norm and he fell many more times, never did understand how he didn't break his neck |

I ussually check in a couple times a day. I finally purchased a
Rapson tyre sign that came up in a auction last Sat. this is only
the third one that I know of in the States. I havent received it in
the mail yet to accually see it in person. Looks to have some
touch up but for the price I bought it at I am very Happy. I can always
upgrade if I want. I purchased it for $425.00 USD, I think I did alright?

Yes ,Brian . To be fair to you it was a reasonable price to pay . You can live with it's flaws , such as they are , at that price , no problem . |

In the late Victorian era , Scotland was also called North Britain , On some signs you will see a name of a place , followed by the initials N.B. which obviously denotes the same . You see it on the early sheep dip signs . The sign with the man on , is the more desirable and more expensive of the two versions . |

Thank you Trixon for that info. The Scotish man is my next desire to find, I Have never seen that one in the U S. I have found info that a company out of California did sell Rapson Tyres in the 20s. Now the info I have found is Rapson merged or was aquired by The North British tyre works in th mid 20s out of Scotland, and then were bought by The Olympic Tyre and Rubber Co. in the early 30s. Rapson also opened a Tyre co. in Launceston Australia in the mid 20s, but ended up closing the doors in 1932 do to some natural disasters, and bad decisions. Frederick L Rapson died in 1933 at the young age of 45. ( John Athersuch) |
