Hi Broadie,

Your "United Services" flake tobacco brand was introduced in 1910 and your framed showcard is circa 1913/14. Do you think that frame is original?? The mirror is quite nice and "Will's" produced a tremendous amount of empherma such as your blotter. I have posted a couple of pictures from the 1920s publication of the company W.D.& H.O. Will's and some of there smaller embossed signs.

Thanks Bacco I knew the add had to be first world war ish. The frame is old but not original, I believe the add was free standing, if my memory serves me right before I framed it about 15 years ago.I have also got the woodbine kingfisher add 9199, but yours looks in better condition than mine.     I forgot to say I love the WINDLASS tin never seen it for sale.cheers  Broadie.

ITC NO 8404, or could be B404---original frame---soft pastel colours seem unusual for a cigarette advert.

Hi guest rpt,

Birds-Flowers-Dogs and other animals were all used to advertise cigarettes, widening the possible sales market as much as possible. Your bird showcard is early 1930s. I have posted my dog ones.
