Picked this nice NEB -  KA up today.   What is it about Muratti's that they seemed to often stick with a design but keep subtly changing it ?

Do you reckon they cut holes in the head dresses to have a fag?

Al.

Lovely tins by the way

Here is another variation of the Neb-ka, much like the red paper one. I have the same design in green and red too on metal.

Can anyone help me with the Man-kee, which seems to me to be modeled on the Neb-Ka.

Is it British or is it in fact made in China or for export to China?  I bought it in London some 10 years ago.

Thanks Kjeld

Lovely tin Kjeld. Manky over here means dirty and rotten, tin must have had a short lived shelf life. Also look at the size of that guy's cigarette on the right!

Hi Kjeld,

I have not been able to trace that brand or the manufacturer and whilst there are similarities to the Murattis- "Neb Ka", I can't find it in the Greek-Turkish or Egyption manufacturer's listings. Is it a Chinese manufacturer for the English market??

I have been having great difficulties posting pictures over the last week or so. I have told AL but is anyone else having similar problems??

Thanks Al and Bacco. The Man-Kee has to remain a mystery for the time being.

I will send a Queen Mab to se if picture delivery works for me.

Hi Kjeld,

That is a very nice early tin. The brand was advertised in the Cigar & Tobacco World Journal of 1897. Super tin!
