E.Morgan & Co's Tobacco Manufacturer based in Amlwch on the Isle of Anglesey North Wales. This showcard is rare as are any items associated with this company. It shows the Railway Bridge and Menai Bridge from mainland to the Island crossing the Menai Straits. I have fond memories of holidays in Benllech just a short distance from Amlwch. Does anyone have any other items from this company??? Size 27"X22"

A few teething problems, but I am sure will get the hang of it in time . Practice makes perfect.

First I have seen from that company Bacco.

Sorrty about the forums, they are really complex to configure too. It will allow us to do some stuff that will be really useful in a few weeks time though.

Please be patient

Cheers

Al

E.M Hughes tobacco manufacturer in Almwch on the Isle of Anglesey. This glass counter-jar is the only item I have of this company. Has anyone else come across this company?? What surprises me, is that Morgans and Hughes both manufactured tobacco in Almwch, Anglesey, which is quite a small town. If anyone has further info on either of these companies, it would be great to hear from them.

Hi NWC,

That is a nice early piece of empherma for "The Welsh Tobacco Co". This company was still in existance in 1940 according to the Tobacco Trade Book for that year. It shows that the company was owned by Morris & Jones Ltd.

I also found this advert for Baco'r Werin manufactured by Hugh Owen & Sons and again based in Amlwch. That is three manufacture's to-date based in Amlwch. I wonder what the attraction to Amlwch is. Did it have a dock facility????? Can any translate "Werin"????
