Ha ha .......might just tempt me there with toast at that price? There was no intent to discourage Pete - simply stating a couple of points ......... Am all for a good BIG event taking off, and was ALWAYS the biggest promoter of Dony back in it day ....... doing show reports after every one, with full page ads in EVERY issue of BBR (did John a good deal from the outset)> We used to work very well together - and it built n built to one of my best regular events in many, many ways. Rekindling such an event is not an easy task - it needs shedloads of work, lotsa promotion, and money spent on advertising. I wish it well, and for one will DEFINITELY give it my wholehearted support, and stand, (& each subsequent) if it looks as though all the necessary forethought and groundwork are being put in to make it succeed. Might just ring up tomoz ............ |

Been on the telephone to Barry this afternoon and he has booked a half page ad for the next 4 BBR mags - going gung ho to pull back this 'biggie'. Best of luck to him ............ & to the resurrection of a 'classic' venue - many happy memories. |

I really would like to - unfortunately I MIGHT be winging my way to India that same w/e...... been planning to go see Everest before I die (not gonna die for a while - I hope) & just after the Elsecar Show (1st w/e in Oct) falls perfect for the weather. If my flight is AFTER I will be standing for sure - support & promote it as much as I can. I used to have 4 stalls at the old Dony, & it was my best fair every time. Advert in the pre National mag, & will do my utmost to push n promote it to get it built up again. An uphill struggle to resurrect - if one man can I would put my faith in Barry & Ellis ...... |

It also needs advertising to the general public that the advertising is back. |
