Members,

Is there anybody who frequents this site planning on returning to the Bamford Auction Rooms for any reason in the next few days, maybe to settle up/collect won lots etc? If so, I have one lot to collect (made up of 4 tins) that they aren't keen on sending to me. Courier to Weston-s-Mare is looking pricey. If a trusted member could collect from the auction rooms, and I'll pay for the P&P to get it to me (economy).

Can anyone help me out?

Mark 'n' Dave Cook.

Can't help out at this late stage. When they have the next one try contacting some site members beforehand as there were several there on the day, including one from your area.
PS. What lot did you manage to win ?

I did think I'd left it a little late. Can I assume DC was there, being my local rep?

I got 124 - the mop tins. They all look good nick. Just missed out on lot 126 too - the hunting themed tins. Anybody on here get lot 104 - group of tins for £75? Looked very good value.

They could be picked up and sent on probably week after next.
Vic ( Kalder ) will be going down and I think he might help out if that suits.
Send him a message via the forum to make contact

Thanks for the help folks. I want the tins collected this week so Bamfords don't start with storage fees or owt. They suggested I use a firm called 'Mailboxes' who collect from them often. I'll get a quote from that Interparcel too.

I shoulda sent this message Saturday!!!

Hey Cook jnr,
don't use mailboxes, they are way too expensive. They usually carry a handling fee, which is fair enough. But In my experience it ends up costing you about £25- £30 on top.
Ask Bamfords to pack it - they read & use this forum for oodles of free promotion & surely there is some good will extended to forum member's???? hint hint.
Come on, as a group we probably single handedly drove all 3 of their last advertising auctions.
www.interparcel.com is brilliant, they pick up from your house & you are able to chose which carrier you want to use ( usually the cheapest) Fedex & dhl really are good. Sold through interparcel they are the best rates you can get. In over 500 transactions, I have had no problems & always been impressed.
nige

ps always ask me, if i'm there or near abouts I will pick up & help out if I can

If Bamfords can wrap them up then you could use an Interparcel courier to pick up from there providing you e-mail the labels to them and agree a pick up date. I wouldn't trust Mailboxes at all as they manged to lose a rare Rowntrees sign I bid on at Chippenham last year. Blotted copy book etc.
