FOUND THESE TWO YESTERDAY CAKED IN LAYERS OF SOME SORT OF BLACK PAINT...NOTHING FANTASTIC I KNOW,BUT WHAT A "BUZZ"  I GOT CLEANING THEM UP AND BRINGING EM BACK TO LIFE...THE "MOOCH" GOES ON..

I THINK IT WAS BITUMEN THAT WAS ON THERE CUS EVERYTIME I RUBBED IT WITH A SCOURING PAD IT SEEMED TO GET THICKER AND SMUDGE..IN THE END I LET THEM DRY OFF AND USED A STANLEY BLADE..IT  TOOK AGES AND IVE GOT NO FINGER TIPS LEFT,.THE MISSES IS MOANING CUS SHES GOT NO SCOURING PADS,,BUT  THERE YOU GO EH..."WELL WORTH THE HASSLE..

There's some stuff in the road-mending trade that makes very quick work of all that ancient bitumen (or tar). Made by Colas and called Leoclean. You might get it off internet as they only have one or two product shops in the country. The industrial version is the bo****ks but not good to human flesh if left on too long and only comes in 5 gallon drums running in at £80 + vat. Its a bit like a super strong Gunk.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE STEVE..SPENT A COUPLE OF HOURS YESTERDAY CLEANING "AGAIN" AND MANAGED TO GET THE STAINING OFF THE ONE," GOD THESE SIGNS START SOME ROWS"..IT BEATS WALKING ROUND B AN Q THOUGH.
