ok not so much a restoration but something like that. here goes

this is how it looked when i got it...

Photobucket

i done some measuring to make sure its the right distance top to bottom of the wiils writting and then braced it ready to be cut

Photobucket

i then cleaned it with a massive line of pink champagne!

Photobucket

then done some more measuring to insure its the same thickness of yellow banding along the bottom as is at the top

Photobucket

Photobucket

braced it up ready to grind the blue off to reveal the yellow underneath.

Photobucket

i got my bondage gear on

Photobucket

and started grinding the blue off, this take a steady hand as if you do it to much you also remove the yellow as well

Photobucket

done

Photobucket

ready to be damaged

Photobucket

this doesnt take a steady hand, its actually requires quite a bit of pressure to get it to flake off

 done

Photobucket

including extra damage around where the screw holes will go

Photobucket

ready to be drilled

Photobucket

Photobucket

i then put some sodium chloride on it

Photobucket

and put it outside for about 2 months

Photobucket

and heres how it looks now

Photobucket

Photobucket

it is now the only one know of this design. the perfect con ready for ebay

I gotta say Chelt, your a bloody thinker, I wouldn't have thought of lightly grinding through the blue to leave the yellow.

In the end you've still got a good looking sign, you'd make a good bush mechanic I reckon.

An excellent retoration, which I rarely say ! Well thought out, and a great sucess. Clearly a pro with his hands and a nice big workshop.

Hi Chelt - what exactly is the cleaning powder you used for cleaning??
A very talented and skilled piece of work, very impressive and creative.
