Hi All...............I found these two old cigarette tins whilst rumaging through some old tins looking for old oil tins.

Can someone date them for me and are they common?

I know nothing about old cigarette tins but just liked the advertising on the paper label of the Three Castles Cigarettes tin.  Suprised the label has survived in this condition for paper. But then again I don't know how old these are!

Hope someone can help with some info. Cheers.

Hi Enamels72,

Your "Three Castles" brand was first introduced by "Will's" in 1878 and proved to be one of their most popular brands, "Capstan" brand was first introduced in 1893 and again a very popular brand. These shaped tins were very popular with the armed forces. Both brands were still available in the 70s/80s although not in the round tin form. I would say your tins are 1920s and collectable if labels in good condition and more so if live. (Full Tin).
