Where has everyone gone??? there seems to be a distinct lack of postings since the new forums began.I am wondering if some previous members cannot or cant be bothered to sign up and access the site???? |

You've hit the nail on the head. You need a magnifying glass to read anything and that doesn't help. Perhaps Al can make it all bigger and send out an easy to understand email to all previous people that have registered AGAIN. OOH THATS BETTER PERHAPS WE SHOULD ALL TYPE IN CAPITALS ! |

Yes it has gone quiet. The forum is definately different and the lettering is smaller and harder to read. Perhaps Al will sort a few things out soon. |

Hi again
Yes I must admit to disliking the smaller type but I just look at the screen with a different magnification. Anyway I was wondering if people have noticed that signs no longer seem to be reaching big prices on Ebay? |

You have to remember that postings on the site were very slow before the meltdown and have just continued where they left off. I have slowed down myself because it seems it's the same few that make up the bulk, so I am uninspired if I see others don't get involved.
I have to agree that Ebay has definitely lost it's shine on those in between signs. I have seen a lot of bargains going through on a regular basis lately. I thought this Colman's mustard sign was a bargain at 100 pounds, the seller didn't want to send to Australia, your loss mate!!

G'day Relics,
At the last minute he sent me an email saying he'll let me bid, after I contacted 3 days before the auction ended, I even said that I'll pay the 5% Paypal fee for him. But when I went to bid he hadn't changed the details in the listing, so that it wouldn't let me bid.

Hi Lads-Probably a good thing that you didn`t bid as I am positive that the sign is a repro which has been Knocked about / buried to get some ageing on it.I don`t think Colmans ever made an original of this sign-if they did I have never seen one, only repros over the years.
cheers,
Mike. |

Hi there,
Glad I’m not the only one who thought the Colman’s was dodgy. I’ve never come across an original, only copies. |

Maybe it's a good thing?? But I thought it looked right. Anybody out there want to tell us if this design was ever an original sign, or just a repro. The damage looks pretty convincing to me and the back I thought looked pretty good too.
