Does anyone have a complete example of one of these signs made by the Imperial Enamel Company:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1910s-RAR...741wt_1255

I remember a series of three different ones coming up when Ebay was in its infancy, from a seller in Australia if I recall correctly, and they were quite stunning - the epitomy of Britsh colonialism, with highly detailed images of workers in the fields being overseen by the plantation owners - that sort of thing. They made about £3K, and I kick myself for not buying them, but I just didn't have that sort of cash at the time.

I've tried searching on Google, but can't find any trace of them.

If someone can post a few images, it would make my day!

Dunc

I would have also been interested, but too much damage to the factory image, not just the hole but also some fading around that area (not flash glare I confirmed that with the seller).

I noticed the corner of this sign in a picture of another listing the seller had. He sent me some photos, but I came to the same conclusion that the damage was in the wrong spots and even the green wreath is very faded. He was prepared to do an $850 price off of ebay.

Funny the reds usually fade the worst. Does anybody have any pics of the other 3 mentioned in the series?

Nice one, Mick. So, there's at least four of these Spencer's signs for me to collect. They say the finest Cuban cigars are rolled in the laps of nubile young ladies, but in this case it appears to be a hairy chested Hindoo!? LoL. ;-)
