Hello all. I turn 40 next month so decided that an early birthday present was in order... Seriously, I'm going for gold with these Spencer's signs until I get the full set, and top of my list is the Catamaran, as featured earlier in this thread. Will be sure to post more pics of the sign upon receipt, but it looks to be in a collectable condition with little or no damage where it counts. I just love the 'colonial' theme of these signs and the sheer level of detail in the images. Cheers. Dunc |

The 'Planters' and the 'Mohurs' represent the net total of my collection thus far, so that's four more to collect that we know about. I bought the Mohurs quite a bit cheaper than Al says he was quoted above, assuming he means pounds sterling? The Indian dealers on Ebay do seem to fluctuate in their pricing though, as someone posted on here about a whisky enamel they had bought for about a third less than I was quoted two weeks previously. Maybe their desire to sell depends more than most on their cash flow position and what there is around to buy at any given time!? I need to get out to India, as I have done previously, and especially Jodphur which is a bit of a centre for antiques dealing. I would also like to check out Burma, what with it now opening up, and it's extensive British colonial past - have bought a few signs from there recently via intermediaries. Cheers. Dunc

WOW!!! I haven't seen that version before, what a great looking sign. Dunc, there is an antique shop that was selling the Lady holding the medal version here in Australia. I didn't have much chipping as far as I can remember, but was a bit faded I think ?? I think they were asking somewhere around AU$5,800. Gordo |

Yes, the lass depicted on this sign, the 'Spencer's Mild....' looks to have a decent rack on
her, and she would have been most welcome to grace my wall! The price you mention equates to about £2,800, so would I would definitely have been tempted if the sign was in half decent condition. Dunc |
