I have been searching for anything to do with Pola-Cola for years. I even have an automatic search set up on Ebay to alert me if something comes up, but so far all it has found is listings by people with Coca-Cola polar bears. It's amazing how many people list their item as pola bear instead of polar bear.

I am pretty sure Pola-Cola was a regional item from Dundee and vicinity. Anytime I see it mentioned it is described as cheap and foul tasting with a medicinal after taste. I remember it from circa 1970 so it's not that old but until now I have been unable to find any advertising pieces. I did one of my periodic Google searches the other day and this sign came up. There was no description or explanation and it is an odd picture but it does prove that the damned stuff existed. Anyhow, if anyone comes across this product please contact me.

Hey Vlad, think you might be right about being local to Dundee. I was up there last month & had a rummage around a few junk shops, but couldn't find anything for you. These links are pretty cool, cheers

Hey Rusty

Thanks for looking. It's funny you should find those Retro Dundee postings because I also found them a couple of days ago. In fact I joined the site just so I could contact the woman who had posted the photo of the tray. I emailed her and asked her if she would be interested in selling the tray but so far no reply.

Here's the photos that were posted. I like the black and white photo of the ad on the wall. I remember growing up in Dundee and the only thing that is missing from the picture is the broken bottles they used to cement into the top of the wall to discourage unwanted visitors.

Vlad

Not to be confused with the Cresta polar bear which advertised a later but equally nasty drink.

Just wanted you to know I found an old bottle of this under our bathroom when renovating, not sure if you are still collecting but you are more than welcome to have it!
