Found this and other items at the NEC Antique Fair yesterday. This is the first cigarette case by a major manufacturer that I have come across. Lambert & Butler founded in 1834 and based at Drury Lane, London W.C.2 and prior to that at St John's St, Clerkenwell. Started manufacturing cigarettes from 1876 and this "Gold Leaf"-"Honey Dew" brand introduced from 1895 to 1910. I think it is in very good condition for it's age. Lambert & Butler became a branch of the I.T.C in 1901. "Rhodian", "Waverley", "May Blossom" were just a few of their popular brands.
