Hi - I acquired these 'Shell' Mirrors in the last few days, as far as I can glean from internet searches they are early 20thC (1907)?, before the company was merged with the Dutch Petroleum Company ?, I stand to be corrected. The metal badge on the frame refers to the British Petrolem Company 22 Fenchurch St London. I have not come across petrol/oil companies using mirrors with goldleaf lettering and etching, more common with chocolate/liquor/tobacco related mirror adverts, there is a coloured 'Shell' mirror on Ebay at present. Any comments or info appreciated.

Thanks Lummox, yes I will probably seperate them at some stage, if I can get suitable swap or cash. One in not as good condition as mine made £380 + fees & commission a couple of years ago at auction.

I might be wrong, but that looks like a King George V cypher?

That would be - King George - 1910 to 1936, so the mirror would be manufactured between those dates and probably nearer the 1910 end of his reign ? The makers, Forrest and Son, Glasgow, were, as you no doubt know, showcard and mirror manufacturers and they made fantastic stuff. I  would like to have a date of manufacture. Thanks for the info Steve.
