Thanks Ross, this tip is very deep and gos back to the 1870s there's tonage down deep,,really needs a larger machine if the owner would stand for it,,,it's a bit late in the season now I wanted to dig it Bach in August.

That's just the job Al,what I've discovered is,,,there's 3 ft of topsoil,,2 ft of  20s,,2 ft of clay capping,,3 ft of Edwardian,,and at least 20 ft of Victorian,,there was only about 14 inches of topsoil on it 30 years ago,,it was dug for two winters by 2 traffic wardens and a x policeman,,they were known locally as the 3 ft diggers they left a real mess so we're slung off the place, more topsoil was added to cover their mess and it has not been touched since,,It has took me 30 years to convince the owner to let me use a mini digger to remove the topsoil,,my son and I will continue as is for a while ,if we have no problems I will give you a call AL.

Al's machine is hiding behind some very big bushes after a little trip over a bit of  water and doing a " Packet " of digging down London way .................... so you might have to use your own little machine Joe ... GOOD LUCK !
