Hi. Has anyone seen this sign before ?

I assume its a drinking up time reminder.

the printers of the sign ceased in1900 , and there was a new

drinking law passed in 1855  to decree 11 o'clock drinkink up

time ( see picture ) so my guess it  dates from 1860s

14"x12".

Would be grateful of any info and possible value on this.

Regards.

Keith

I remember an identical sign in Jackson Grant antiques shop in Teynham Kent (now gone).  It had a 'Not For Sale' sticker.  Wonder if it's the same one when all the stock was sold ?

Hi, John, Thanks for comments .  I must admit with all the knowledge

out there  on the forum someone would have seen one before.

Perhaps its the same one that you seen in the shop and perhaps its a

one off  comissioned for a particular pub/ establishment.

Anyone with any answers ?

Cheers,  Keith

 Hi, Charles,

Thanks for reply.   The Copyright Act was introduced in 1842.

So still be from the 1860s

Cheers.

Keith
