Hi,
I am new to this forum and advertising so please excuse any stupid questions !
I have recentlyacquired the mahogany Crawford's biscuit case as per the photos. As you can see it had about 1/4 inch of dust and dirt on it when I got it but it has cleaned up well and I was pleasantly surprised to find the two enamel signs inside which show through the glass when the biscuits were being sold.
I have a few questions, any idea what sort of age it is ? Is anything missing from the top - it seems there never was anything in the gap but there are two small wooden dowels sticking up. I may have to sell it as space is an issue - should I try to get the missing pieces of moulding on the sides re-made or would a collector prefer it as is or get them done themselves ? If I do decide to sell, any thought on the approximate value as is ?
Many thanks
Andrew
PS - Thanks to Al for the help on photo sizing (though I do seem to have one in twice somehow !)
