This G.B.D pipe display cabinet, had been converted when I purchased it last year.

The initials stand for the names of the three French founders, Ganeval, Bondier and Donninger. Founded in Paris in 1850 and specialised  in meerschaums of "high grade" of the day. Eventually, became known for quality briar pipes and moved to London to be closer to the booming briar pipe trade (1870s). The GBD initiaks were stamped on the stem of the pipes within an oval circle. In 1952, the factory was moved back to Saint-Claude. There are many collectors of these pipes. However, makes a nice display cabinet for my collection of tins.

Here you go Bacco.

Nice cabinet, but i'd rather have the contents. Is that a little volcano that I see?
