 Thanks for sharing Jimbo. The fact that the auctioneer has catalogued it with one 'l' in enamelled may have escaped it being flagged up on peoples' online searches !!

Already for sale on gumtree, the back of the sign is slightly concerning??

 These signs have been repro'd, but I don't think they are that big, and I'm not sure if mounting holes are included in the same positions.

I think it might well be one of a batch of Repro's that were being sold by a dealer at Kempton & Peterboro. He always seems to have a different " very Rare " Bicycle or motor dealership enamel every time he stalls. Definitely had a " good " repro of these which a well known bottle dealer bought by mistake at Kempton. Basically they are very clever made to deceive fakes. Unfortunately the real BIG money in transportation signs seems to be drawing in the fraudsters.

Some of these signs are VERY , VERY plausible...............for whats its worth my advice is IF you have any doubt at all LEAVE well alone !!

Just found 2 others sold in last few years, both have fixing holes nearer the top between W  &  D  and above the other D in Hudson ..........so who knows !

 It was very convincing - the weight, the chips looked authentic (showing the layering of enamel) and the type was raised. Only the back was a bit iffy - it could have been authentic but no splashes of enamel at all was worrying. Also, the screw holes were in the wrong place for this sign. Here's one that looks how it should

Thanks for sharing this Jimbo - the key is in the two different sized sets of fixing holes on the original - so the retailer could either hang it off a projecting bracket or fix to a wall.

Here's a real one bought today ...............and strangely enough the seller thought it was a repro ?
