WOW !!! That is truly a fantastic looking sign. To me, a great example for why I like a bit of resto and that frame makes it pop. Any chance of some close up pics of the shop ? Cheers Gordo |

Hi Lummox
Is the ‘frame’ an original design of the period or one that you had built & made up recently?
I have a number of signs that will benefit from frames (also easier to get the ok to hang them in the kitchen) but trying to find the old original frames is quite a challenge as they will most likely already have a sign in them.
I’ve asked a number of picture framers if they can make up new frames to the old design, with no luck so far. These frames have a distinct design and construction that is obviously not manufactured anymore.
Thanks;
PG

The sign looks great doesn't it! I bet the detail in the window displays is superb! PhoneGuy - Any good timber timber merchant would be able to get mouldings run off for you to whatever profile you like. I did post something about original frames a while back. |

Hi sign-seeker
Yes, I think I remember this and saved the image - if this is the one you're refering to?
Thanks for reminding me :-) I've got a good proper sawmill and timber merchant near to me, I'll ask them about making up these mouldings.
Cheers

Hi PhoneGuy; Yes; that's the one I meant. If you need any more info on dimensions or profiles, let me know, although I don't have the Wills's one any more. |

Hi sign-seeker
Would you be able to send me more info (dimensions / profiles) for the OGDEN'S No 1 frame as this is exacly the one I'm after.
Many thanks & cheers.

Hi Lummox, ditto, sorry for the 'framing' highjack. Desperately want to get these signs on the walls at home and your mouthwatering example just gets me itching to hang!
