Picked up a couple of this firms tins. The company W.T Davies & Sons were first established as snuff & tobacco manufactures under the name W & E Davies in 1832 at Feathers Lane, Chester and in 1870, moved to Canal St, Chester. They joined the ITC in 1901. They had a tremendous range of tobacco brands but probably best known for the "Coral Flake" introduced in 1900 and withdrawn in 1955. Two variations posted. The "Two Flakes" tin is first I have come across although quite a few companies used this brand name.

Great stuff Bacco.

The green Coral Flake looks an unusual shape. Is it a one ounce?

Bamber, I'd think the green finger tin and then the green small flat tin are the most common.

Don't think I've seen the green squarish one before.

 Hi hilbert and Bamberbooks,

The "Coral Flake" with red stripe is the most common and the two round "Coral Flake" tins posted , are about 1950s, one manufactured under W T Davies name and other manufactured by Ogden's. I can only assume that W T Davies were taken over by Ogden's who continued this popular brand. I have also posted picture of the "Blue Dun" and "Sweet Memories" tins from W T Davies, introduced late 1920s.

Have just found out that a "Blue Dun" is a Dry Fly fishing hook.

Nice Blue Dun. Never seen it.

Pretty neat having both of those round coral flakes.

Another couple of Davies's tins. "Slip Knot" flake finger tin, with striker on base circa 1930s and the " Daro" shag tin given free for their loose tobacco circa 1920s
