I think thats what you call 'Hung, Drawn and Quartered'. But to be fair Mick, it is the larger version, which don't turn up as often, and if it was in better condition would certainly attract some followers.

 Nectar Tea made 380 Tykey, so you were " right on the money " as they say.

 I may be corrected on this , but  allowing for my  rapidly fading memory (age related).... I believe large quantity was found in the1990s and were selling for around £30  each.. I know I bought one only a few years later for £35 and sold it on for £45  .They just had the screw hole chips.... It seems they would have been a good investment ...assuming my memory is not playing tricks with me

There were indeed a great number found; apparently bricked up in an old railway arch. Many hundreds, in varying conditions. I suspect it might have been in the 1980s or possibly earlier, as I bought mine from Dodo on Westbourne Grove around 1981 or '82, for £13, and I would have thought that's where it came from. There are stories of dealers buying them out of the back of a van, by the dozen!!!

 Yes I most likely bought mine a few years later when prices had edged up  I did not know the history of discovery.  ..interesting

Al's right with the quantity...it was the late 70s....I was buying them at 2 quid a pop from people that must have been buying them cheaper...can remember that some were tied I think in batches of 10 with old string....would always plough through them looking for the colour variations which were still the same price...remember too speaking to a London trader who apparently turned down the whole lot when they first turned up.

Think we discussed the colour variations here in the past...there were definitely 4 versions...the normal white and the rarer green,blue and pinkish tint.
