Is this a lobster in a tin?

Hi Hilbert.

That's an advertising canopy/cap used to cover the cork stoppers of old olive oil damigans or glass bottles. Many customers might want a lobster barrel!

Oneglia, an italian city, was quite famous for the great amount of olive trees present and the flourishing production of olive oil.

Oh, this tin is mine as well and this pictures was just uploated on my ebay listing.

Regards,

Mario

Hi Mario.

I like the tin.

I thought it might have contained olive oil. Perhaps lobster flavoured.

Are you saying it contained metal caps for the corks on olive oil jars?

Wow. As you say Trixon, would never have guessed.

That must be a sizable jar of olive oil.

Thanks Mario.
