Hi Spence

I believe most of the small whites where originally framed as many this one included have no hanging holes

In over 40 years I have never seen one as good as this. Amazing quality, the enamellers must have just started making these for Fry's. Just superb and a good one evaded me for the whole collecting period - 1970 to 2000. A wild guess at between 1 - 2 K ?

Thnks BB , re sizes then if I had a choice (which I don't ! ) then the medium would tick a box, an obvious reason but faces would remain clearer from a distance when displayed.

Marcus really good  sign btw.

cig

Spence..the small version with the full white background turns up with and without holes...never had one in an original frame but guess the ones without holes must have been framed in some way..the even smaller miniature version can have holes or without and with rounded corners...Ed

They made a lot of different versions of this sign, didn't they! I have the medium sized red background with b&w faces and the large sized blue background with b&w faces. I remember being very surprised when I first saw the medium sized blue background with coloured faces and recently 2 large sized blue backgrounds with coloured faces turned up on stalls at Elsecar - never seen a green background one though.
