Yeh, that's sweet as a nut.
The Pinnace is a lovely little thing too. Is it curved? |

Re the Pannace. We all love a full colour image, but when they make the monotone thing work it has a charm all it's own.
One more. The Punch & Judy tin. I've seen a couple of different mini P&J tins but I've not seen that one before. Is it branded? |

Hi Kennett,
That Goodbody's "Furze Blossom" is a Beauty. The brand was introduced in 1896 and according to records, had a short life. Furze is an old English name for Gorse that blooms which I would imagine would be plentiful in and around the Country Lanes near the Factory in Tullamore and would suggest that being source for brand name???
The Ogden's "Old Tyke" brand, was first introduced in 1895 and withdrawn around 1910 according to records. "Tyke" is defined as a chiefly British: a man cosidered uncouth - or mean - or a boor?????
The Ogden's "M.A" cigarette tin I looked into 2-3 yrs ago. Can't find it, in any of their early records and I wonder if it was a special order for the University of Liverpool which became independent in 1903 with the right to confer its own degrees as the image could be from that period?????

Hello Ken,
Superb collection. I've been told mine are good, but I think yours makes mine look poor.
Out of interest, what's the tin that's laying flat in front of the Mazawatte Latariba sample?
Could you let me have your wifes name and address please, or her email address if she's got one? I'll contact her and tell her you spent £500 on a Woodland Belle tin! |

H i all ..thank, you for the comments..Two bits lying flat are just the ruler and Cadbury"s Cocoa.
.I have added the dusty statuette pictures ..5 left of about a dozen I used have ..difficulty in finding space to display them (as with counter boxes). These seem to be out of favour as I never see any posted on this siite rarely for sale at fairs.
I sold my Pirate Shag and Wills (with clay pipe) when the reprose came..Probably should have kept them ..who knows

Its not divorce as she needs my pension and she has little idea of their value only showing interest in the adverts She just may be suspicious I am selling bits on the sly to fund an affair...honestly not true |

Thanks for that Ken, I thought it was a Cadburys cocoa tin.
The Furze Blossom is amazing. I can honestly say it's one of the best tobacco tins I've ever seen.
As for the figures, that donkey or whatever it is for shoes, is a weird looking thing. I don't know if they've gone off the boil, or there's just not many about. I like them. Though not keen on the donkey. |
