Very nice.  Is it for the off?  If so, I'd be interested in buying it.

 Hi Lummox,

That is a very nice and rare Jame's tin. I have a showcard of this company which I will post further detail later.

bacco

Here are some photo's taken of a 1908 calendar showcard. Tobacco manufactured by Banks & James Tobacco & Cigar manufacturers of Coventry. (Note: the Three Steeples. trade mark) From what I can gather, this company superceded The Leicester Tobacco Company of Leicester which had a number of similar brands which seem to have been absorbed into the Banks & James Company. See the recorded brands on both 1901 & 1908 showcard calendars posted. I think that these changes came about during the setting up of the ITC in 1901.

What a fantastic tin, and very desirable. I used to have the large James Cavalry tin but never see any others from this company.
Made my day to see something new on the tin front!
