The clock looks OK, advertises Charringtons Toby Ale on the revolving bit under the face, however the cabinet looks repro to me.  What do others on here think ?

The bottom cabinet is cobbled. There's a seller at Newark & Lincoln knocking this rubbish out.

Theres a real raft of this garbage on line. You're right Steve, Elmgarden are up there with the main protagonists. The cabinets dont look convincing they use the wrong typefaces. The worst part of it is the lettering - i have never ever seen cabinets saying something like John Smiths Chemist Goodramgate York, as if an interior piece would be addressed, nothing like this was ever personalised. Yet, they still churn this pap out and have the gall to suggest that its original. Even going so far as sign writing later pieces of furniture and ambiguously stating 'lettering may have been added at a later date'. (See elmgarden on ebay).
It really makes my blood boil as at best it cheapens original pieces and at worst is fraud. And it gives dealers a bad name when these people bang this shite out into the open market for unsuspecting punters to buy. I had a piece like this brought into the Centre I used to work in and the guy was convinced it was right. Then when he ceded that i was right he said - go on you can bang it out its only money! I politely declined.

Afraid not, it's owned by a bottle collector who thinks he's got the real deal. Purchased it some time ago unfortunately.
