Thought this was quite amazing..a very early c1870-1880s..large wooden box with original paper labels ,housing 1000 Copes Peerless brand Cigaretos..as found and should clean up well...approx 17 inches x 9 inches !

I like your box and have just looked up the "Peerless Brand" cigareto's,and found it advertised in my early Copes Tobacco Manual of 1870. So, quite an old brand. Would be nice to see when cleaned up.

 Thanks for the info Bacco..knew you would get on the case quickly !..looks from one of the ads that the box is made of cedar...makes sense..quite heavily made with a sliding lid
