Picked this little plaque to go with the tin I already had. Cohen Weenan & Co Ltd were established in 1864 and were based at, 52, Commercial Rd, East, moving to 112, Commercial St in 1896. Originally concentrated on Tobacco, Snuff and cigars and moved into cigarette manufacturing in 1891 at Hanbury St , East.. They were sometimes known as "C.W. & Co". They became a branch of Godfrey Philips Ltd in 1929. Some of their more popular brands were "Gaiety Girl" - "Circus Girl" - "Bandmaster" and "Sweet Crop" plus many others.

Thanks Alan, still on the lookout for nice tins and die-cut advertising or any related tobacco/cigarettes paraphanalia. Picked up this nice "GOLDSTREAM" tobacco tin by Cohen Weenan & Co introduced around 1910. I also noticed a reference in the 1897 tobacco news, to the "PRINCELET" brand name. It seems that the firm had a base at 2 to 3, Princelet St, London E.
