Hi folks.

I have used www.esnipe.com for years but have now started using the free version of www.gixen.com

I have not had any issue with esnipe although you have to pay to use it.

Gixen has failed to bid on a few items for me though.

Al.

I've used bidnip for a while now and it does the trick - the first 5 snipes are free so you can try it out too

I use two progs - I use both at the same time on important items - avoids failed bids ( time outs,  time diff etc)

auctionsniper - has intergrated photos, saves time

esnipe has the best record, used it for 7 years, never a missed snipe - does cost, but you get what you pay for. A missed bid on an important item, can be repayed several times over by using a reliable prog, cheers

Auctionstealer gives you 3 free goes a week, thereafter it costs. More than enough for me because Mrs Tyke has severely curtailed my ebay purchases nowadays

I have always felt that the use of these snipe programmes was somehow underhand and sneaky.

However I have been so galled by snipers nicking my ebay bargains at the very last second recently - probably the very people in this blog,  that I have resolved to use them myself in future........ what is the world coming to!!!

never used these programs.... do you set an upper limit you wish to pay? Only if someone really wants a sign, say market value £50, and puts their maximum bid to say £100, just to make sure they get it, can you end up in a situation where you pay double the market value?

You put in what you are prepared to pay for the item. Doesn't matter if you are sat at the computer or not.
