Well it fetched a nice price but I would have thought it would have been closer to banjo boy's first idea of £795.

Did anyone notice the Volunteer pocket cigarette tin that went recently for £215. One came up a couple of years ago and so many people tried to get it early that the buyer took it down and sold it through Sotheby's I think.

I wouldn't bother going to 'ANY' shows expecting to find or even see tins of this calibre. Those days are well and truly OVER! Well done whoever bought this fantastic tobacco tin, you got a bargain. It should have made a lot  more money. Tins of this calibre never turn up at shows/fairs these days. As for one ever  turning up on a stall at Elsecar... DREAM ON!
