Hello all

I am trying to find out more about the history of the Wayne Tank and Pump Company Ltd whose address was Newlands Park, south-east London. They made petrol pumps, of course.  I suspect they were a UK subsidiary of an American company of similar name. The background to this is that I am trying to put a date on a "skeletal" petrol pump made by them. Does anyone know the dates that the company started in the UK and ceased production in the UK? (or specifically at that address)?  Does anyone know if any company archives exist anywhere? I have not identified any archives by searching online.

I know this is an old post but here goes..... I worked for Waynes as a lorry driver back in the mid sixties after they moved to Bracknell in Berkshire, I was there for about 2/3 years then left. You are correct they were part of an American company but I don't remember many details except that after I left they were taken over by a company called 'Dresser'. Sorry I cant be more help.

Wayne pumps are definitely global: here in South Africa, Wayne was also taken over (?) by Dresser, and was called Dresser-Wayne.

Not a LOT of help, I know, but just thought that you should now Dresser is the right starting point!
