A visit to the Summer National at Elsecar on Saturday turned up some nice pieces and what a super event it was well organised thanks to Alan and his team. This framed showcard of a press-gang in action illustrates how recruitment was done for the Navy and other branches of the military during the 18th & 19th century. The man being chased was in the middle of shaving a customer as he still has shaving brush in hand. This showcard is titled a "Bolt from the Blue" dated 1907
