I very Rarely buy anything from auction, and if avoided not on the Saleroom dot com. Its an ok service but the extra fees really stack up !!

Anyway recently I could'nt phone bid and had to resort to the Saleroom dot com.  Easy to use, log in and win my item ok price ....no problem

I then get an email from the Saleroom offering me their shipping service. Cost £68 and will come from one of 3 packers and shippers. Mailboxes being one of them.

I wondered what would happen if I went to Mailboxes direct and surprise, surprise it was £50, Still an almighty rip off but still £18 cheaper.

£18 for an email or phonecall is pretty good business for the Saleroom I reckon !!

I'm with you Lummox. I have used Saleroom on the odd occasion in the past, but you really do have to watch the add on's!
On one occasion the postage plus fees etc came to more than my winning bid!! Mad.

I was quoted $360.00 by Pack and Send to ship 2  8 inch tins from New Zealand to Australia . Ended up talking the seller into helping out and packing and shiping them to me .
$35.00 it cost

Usually these 'shipping agents' end up charging you about 10p cheaper than getting in your car and collecting yourself, so unless you,re going to an auction in the next town or so, you,re getting shafted for the pleasure of winning the item.
