Thanks for putting them up Ross. Just shows how easy it is. Hinks I really like the emergency stairs. Is that an original frame. Thought the sunlight soap was unusual. |

There's some unusual signs there Hinks . I'd be happy to own any of them , like the Millenium Bread especially . They are all interesting and some I've never seen before . Thanks for showing . |

Thanks for comments...and thanks Lummox for posting the pictures. Madwon yes that’s the original frame on the emergency stairs sign. It was made for Edgware Road Station around 1906. It’s in absolutely mint condition...looks like it could have been made yesterday. |

Cheers banjo boy...I think that Florador is a very old one...maybe late 1880s. |

Some very early signs there, especially like the Sunlight, I think about 1895 on that one? Get that Stephens Inks on Ebay soon while these mad bidders are at it !! |

Yes the Sunlight Soap about 1895 I should think Mick. I’ve never been able to work out if it was originally octagonal or has had its corners cut off at some point. Only similar design I’ve ever seen is an illustration in a Chromo Wolverhampton catalogue, and it’s shown as a square sign in that. |

Seems odd that someone would purposely cut it down like that, but who knows. Are the sides enamel coated or does it show cutting? |

The Sunlight sign looks to have been cropped at some point in time , should be 30 inches square . Perhaps Hinks could measure it across the centre , left to right for us then we'd know for sure .Or top to bottom even as it's still got it's fixing holes . |

You’ve got eyes like a hawk banjo boy... that Shell is just a small repro that I quite liked. I’ve got one of the real Sealed Pump signs somewhere...found it in a barn in Norfolk around 1985. The other sign is a sample of enamel from a company called Caxton and Chatterton...found that lying on the pavement in Oxford around 1988. Haven’t got a clue what it was doing there. I’ll try to get a picture of it on here. Trixon yes Sunlight sign is 30 inches across. I agree with you that it’s been cropped...bit of a shame. |
