It seems that a Titanic advertising poster is due to be auctioned by Henry Aldridge on saturday..estimate £30k .The designer is given as marine artist Montague Birrell Black (say that quickly after 6 pints of 5.5% beer). The poster image is identical to my White Star cigarette tin for the "RMS Olympic" (bought from SB),..it along with the Brittanic were identical. It looks as if the design was used on cigarette tins and the Cadburys Bournville tin.Shame my tin was not the Titanic...has anybody got one? did Cadburys produce a Titanic bournville tin ?.I think they did

I found one forgotten cigarette in mine "White star Line" printed on the side

Why is the liner flying the "stars and Stripes".?.the most famous flag in the world is the Union Jack

 Hi Ken,

I like your "RMS Olympic". My  "RMS Olympic" which was the sister ship of the "Titanic" and which I have posted previously. I have not come across a "Titanic" tin but would love to see one. W Ariel Gray & Co seemed to provide a lot of shipping companies with cigarettes. We did quite a piece on this company a while back.

 Hi Ken,

The "Ariel Gray Ltd" was posted on 7/1/17 and also included a Belgium "Titanic" tin.

Love that White Star tin Bacco. The paper insert in Ken's tin must be really rare... only one I've seen. My White Star tin has a different inside lid detailing the routes of Britannic and Olympic but not Titanic so probably dates from after the sinking. Cherbourg is still amazing with a lot left on the docks from Titanic era... worth a look if you get chance?

Very nice nice indeed Lummox.I was told years ago there was one issued... also that the cigarette tin (same design) had been found with the inside of the lid blacked out to hide the Olympic and Titanic wording
