For my money it would be one of the 2 existing Hudson's Balloon signs. Much rarer than BP Winner and great imagery.

I've never been interested in motoring signs but I can appreciate why the 'Winner' is so sought after. Its a simple yet iconic image reflecting the golden age of motor racing... Brooklands, Bugatti and all that. I prefer small, pictorial signs with strong graphics advertising products like this Robin. Its all a matter of personal taste.

No Banjo, I have never seen a small Komo, was it the Imp? - I still have my Komo which I bought from him, it had a large hole in it which I repaired, yellow background. I still have my two boys sitting on a collar I also bought from him - he had wonderful stuff, although a lot of it went straight to London dealers. It was dazzling going round to his flat, just about every week the floor was piled high with the latest finds.

Yes mate,,blue background..We spotted the sign just above the doorway on an old shop in Gt.Bridge..It was filthy,no one about to ask about it..Following Friday C.G showed it to us and yep he had taken it down from That shop...Gutted..wonder where that sign is now?.Another for my 10 of enamels..Only 8 left

The BP Winner didn't sell then, it reached £10.000, but no higher.

It makes you wonder if a nearly mint one was £30k I would have thought that £10k was a good price for a scruffy one.

Half of that would have been too much !!!

Somebody had more £10K than sense !

But were luckily saved by a reserve !

Sorry but makes you wonder what the seller was actually after ?
