This Player's Empire "Navy Cut" cigarettes are oval in shape and dates from early 1920s. It is interesting that it has no string holes on the top although it could be freestanding as I have not looked at the back yet. It is signed F H Bennett (1870-1952) best known for portraits of soldiers.  One of his most copied works known as "The Landlords Story" an illustration depicting men gathered around a fireplace.

 Hi batleycarr1,

Glad you like the showcard and yes, so far avoiding the dreaded Covid19. Hope you & family are also well.

This showcard posted is titled "Bolt from the Blue" 1907. I have shown it before and shows how press-gangs recruit for the navy with cruel and violent methods often  against their will with the young barber running for his life.I just think it is a nice illustration.
