Thank for the replies. I can understand why you say that, and I was a bit dubious at first as well. But think about the shipping lines in the 30's, the cigarette tins for sale on the ships at that time were just standard 50 or 100 size tins with a paper label stuck on one corner. The label on this tin is thin paper and has been on there a long time. Personally, I think it is right, but everyone is welcome to their opinion.
Just as an aside, this isn't my tin, it belongs to my uncle, he bought it in the 1970's from a lady who told him that it was indeed purchased aboard the Hindenburg by a relative of hers. He kept it in the shed with pins in it apparently.
