A shame ,Ross . I knew you had one . Still if it's gone to Tyke Towers , it's found a good home .

These signs have never really done it for me. I had a smaller one and sold it, just couldn't look at it.

I agree Mick, I sold mine recently, I know the large version is rarer, but large makes it worse in my eyes, in this case.

  Hi All,

Heres my contribution,

I got this from a guy ( now long  retired ) who  used to work for a maintainance  company that did work on all the large old retail outlets back in the day, Liberty, Derry & toms & the like , so he  got into all the old nooks & crannies , that we would all like to explore , I had some nice bits off him over the years.

He told me this came out of a big old building owned by BR , over in Victoria, and was originally displayed on the station concourse, I have no reason to  doubt him , & could be borne out by the sign being attached ( in what looks like a professional manner  ) to a very old heavy board ,that is  painted in the Southern Region green.

Huh, Bloody heavy , It needed a bolster along the bottom edge &  i needed a scaffold plank & a ladder , at the bottom of the stairs  to get it ,in place !! .

A big cup of tea always hits the spot

  Peter
