Bought this tin recently and just wandered whether anybody could help in dating it . When did it became illegal for U.K. companies to include cocaine in their products ?

Hi Ken .. Can't help with the date but certainly decades into the 20th century .
I have come accross references recently while researching Chlorodyne .

Here is a link I found which leads to lots of information on opiates and their use in sedation of infants etc

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10723823/

Cheers .. Chris

 found this on google

1920: Cocaine is banned as an illegal substance in the U.K. under the Dangerous Drugs Act. This started an illegal importation trade. Some enterprising traffickers used homing pigeons sent from France to bring in a gram at a time.

anybody want 300 pigeons !!!

I always wondered why people kept pigeons!

Tin looks round about the first world war to me.
