Love this kind of coincidences!!
Nice sundial btw.
When I was a child I often played when visiting them, in the old workshop of a sculptor who lived and work in the first half of the 20 the century.
It was the father of a friend of my father.
Not a that well know artist, but never the less talented.
His name was Rik Sauter.
His brother Felix Sauter, was a painter in the same period and lived more up north of Antwerp, in a small village where we live now.
Back in the days when I still had a shop, I managed to clear that workshop and I ended up with hundreds of objects.
Paintings of Felix who hardly sold any of his work during his live, and left all he had to his brother Rik.
I love most of the work of both.
I kept a few works of Felix and sadly nothing of Rik. I needed the money back then and had to sell.
Never the less years later I managed to find other objects related to both men, on different occasions.
On markets , in a other house clearing and in auction houses.
First pic is a rather big painting of a view here in the village, by Felix and one of the works I managed to keep.
Second a printingblok of a painting of Felix, quiet similar to the one we have. Fonund in a house clearing.
Then a bronze medal bearing the name of Rik when he participated to a art event in his part of the town.
And a bronze meda, made by Rik.
I can assure you it is quiet thrilling (for me) every time I found that additional item....
