If you can't get the originals, what do you do, they look great ! Sure looks better than an empty box.

Vic, They all look very nice and as a display compliment the box. As it's your own collection I see no reason not to do it as it gives you pleasure. The problem arises when these start getting out into mainstream fairs etc. and easily fool some people into believing they are original and get passed off as original. we've all seen the growth in repro signs, showcards, tins etc.

Hello Pete, I totally agree with you. Personally   I would  rather destroy them  than see

them on the open market.

I actually tried to delete this post (as usual) last night, but for some reason was not able

to do so.

I know some museums copy their items , Beamish for example, but  at least the originals

are preserved and kept in their original condition.

rare label on a packet, jar, or bottle or whatever. The exception being, if they were not rare

and in abundance.

Vic,  I don't understand why did you try to delete the post ??

Hello Lummox, I'm just a naturally indecisive person, in other words always changing my

mind.  Also I sometimes think, are you actually devaluing an item by exposing the image on

the World Wide Web?  Thinking of signs for example, I've often thought if a stunning

original sign turned up in an auction house, whereby the image was well known but only

been seen in repro form, would it fetch as much money than if the image had never been

seen before?

....would it fetch as much money ......... ?

Actually personally I don't think it matters , and if it did happen it might fetch more but nobody could or would KNOW one way or the other !

Hi Rich, The packs were made by me copied from the original wrappers which are of course in my collection. They are a sample  part of an archive  I purchased several years ago. Unfortunately there are no duplicate (original) wrappers, as all are one-offs.

I've been looking online for years, ever since I first purchased them, and never seen anything like them. I've got a lot more too, including  labels that went on the wooden packing boxes.
